Cherry Plastics Group are at the cutting edge of polymer processing and reprocessing technology and have formed a number of strategic partnerships with a variety of polymer research institutes across Europe, thus giving the company access to some of the leading experts in the polymer research industry.

Cherry Drainage Pipes works closely with the Polymer Processing Research Centre (PPRC) at Queen's University Belfast. The PPRC are conducting research and developing new technologies to ensure that Cherry Plastics Group are at the forefront of polymer processing. Having well established expertise in rotational moulding and polymer extrusion the PPRC are now extending into complementary research areas of injection moulding, blow moulding and thermoforming.

The Centre includes a comprehensive testing and analysis facility, to service industrial requirements and support research projects, and provides the expertise and facilities required to undertake fundamental and applied research in polymer processing, reflecting the priorities of the plastics industry. It covers all aspects of polymer processing including studies on: morphology, micro-structure, process control, rheology and physical properties.

Cherry Plastics Group has a strong focus on R&D and continuous improvement and are currently investigating areas of polymer science, polymer processing, reprocessing, manufacturing control systems, designing and manufacturing our own production machinery . The Group also has specialist technical knowledge gained through 20 years of plastics manufacturing and offer our customers specialist support in material analysis and identification.
